Mr David Stonestreet

Welcome back to all our families and students to Term 2. I hope you had a restful break and a time to reflect over Easter. Yours truly joined the growing ranks succumbing to COVID (which sadly spoilt my ANZAC weekend plans), but thanks to God I am getting through it ok.

Parents and senior students are reminded to be mindful of neighbours during morning and afternoon pick up times. Please do not park or stop across driveways or in no stopping zones at any time. Please also be considerate of our neighbours' lawns when parking during wet weather.

New welfare hub filled with mental health resources

School Counsellors

We have enjoyed settling in at Shire Christian School. We have loved establishing relationships with the students from Kindergarten all the way up to Year 12. Thank you to the community here at Shire Christian School for your warm welcome to us both.

Towards the end of Term 1 it was brought to our attention that a number of students, staff and parents had questions that related to the vast and complex realm of mental health.

Dorian Gray dazzles in a new ‘Cine-Theatre‘ form

Students in the senior Drama classes had the opportunity to see the critically acclaimed Sydney Theatre Company production of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, a story that asks its audience to consider what a human would do if they had no consequences for their actions. As a special schools day performance, our students were treated to some words from the director Kip Williams both before and after the performance, giving an insight into the mechanics and thinking behind the piece.

Hanging In

Rev Bruce Christian

Philippians is arguably one of the Apostle Paul’s most encouraging letters. I am encouraged by how much encouragement he obviously experienced from knowing that fellow-believers in this Macedonian city were praying for him (Philippians 1:19). I am greatly encouraged when I know friends are upholding me in prayer when I am facing challenging circumstances.

For prayer and praise

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at he coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

  • Pray that God would continue to sanctify his people, until the Lord Jesus returns.
  • Thank God for his faithfulness and salvation.
  • Thank God for the Secondary School camps last week.
  • Thank God for Shire Christian School mums and pray for those who find Mother's Day difficult.
  • Pray that God would give the teachers wisdom as they teach and set an example of Christian living for the students.
  • Praise God for the many talents he has given to so many students and pray for them as they represent the school in sporting events, learning events, and excursions.
