Four teams participated in the CSSA Secondary South Met Zone Touch Gala Day on Thursday, 12th March, with all forty four students playing with great sportsmanship, rigor and skill.
It is a great achievement to have competed so competitively, despite many students not playing touch at an out of school level.
Three teams (U15 Boys, U15 Girls and Opens Girls) were successful in making it to the grand final but were narrowly defeated in their final matches. A special mention also to the Open Boys who made it to the semi finals but went down in drop offs (extra time).
Congratulations also to the following students who were selected to represent the South Metropolitan Zone Touch Team at Port Macquarie:
- Turoa Williams
- Bailey Bowran
- James Doyle
- Harry Shore
- Nikora Williams
- Georgia Mullins
- Isabelle Mullins
- Jade Wagstaff
- Amy Purvis
- Milanya Butterham
- Lara Davis
- Emily Doyle
- Heidi Thornely
- Jordan Wang
A big thank you to our ex-students: Izzy Fanous and Lara Dipple who came to support and coach the teams (and teachers). Thank you also to Mrs Wilcockson, Mr Peters, Mrs Dipple and Mr Chen for coaching each of the teams. A wonderful day was had by all!
Mr Jo Chen
