Congratulations to Cooper Starr, who has been named as part of a 17 player squad selected for the CIS Rugby League team. Cooper will travel to Narrabeen in June for a training day, then to Tamworth for the NSW PSSA State Championships.
The Convenor of the Primary Rugby League Trials last Wednesday commented on what a challenging day it was for the students who tried out, as there were high numbers all competing for a team of only 17 from around the State.
Shire Christian School had 4 entries; Micah Townsend from Year 5, Cooper Starr, Jordan Hidayat and Jonty Walsham all from Year 6. The day began for them at 9:30am at St Mary’s with a skills session. This was closely watched by NRL officials and selectors, then followed by trial games.
Well done to the boys who did their best on the day!
