Chloe Terzis (Year 2) was awarded Overall National Champion at the Talent Tribe Dance National Finals last week, and will travel to New York City to compete in the World Dance Pageant in July next year.
Just two days after performing on the Shire Christian School stage at PIPE, Chloe competed in the National Finals Tournament at the Darling Quarter Theatre, winning a number of trophies including National Champion in Musical Theatre, Commercial Contemporary, Traditional Contemporary, Open Any Style, runner up in Lyrical, and third in Ballet and Jazz.
Chloe said she was very shocked to win the overall National Champion title and expected the girl she was dancing against in the top two to win.
“She was really good, I thought she was going to win,” Chloe said.
“I was so happy! It was a bit scary going on stage when they announced the results though!”
As National Champion Chloe will compete at the World Dance Pageant in New York, also winning tickets to a Broadway show, and the chance to participate in a photoshoot in both Sydney and Manhattan.
Chloe said she is particularly looking forward to seeing the Statue of Liberty and dancing on the New York stage.
“I love dancing because we have fun, we work as a team and we try and work hard,” she said.
The School is very proud of Chloe's dancing accomplishments and wishes her all the best for the World Championships next year.
