Construction project set to commence – New sportsfield and basement carpark

The need for additional onsite parking was identified by the School as part of its future masterplanning. During this process, the School became aware that current student numbers were not consistent with the cap set by the original Development Consent, which dates back some 20 years. The School took the initiative to notify Sutherland Council and provided a solution to address the discrepancy. The updated consent rectifies the student cap and, importantly, allows for more onsite parking than is required, helping remove some of the impact on our neighbours.

This project will include two elements:

• Basement carpark: The construction of a new 68-space basement carpark under the existing school oval;
• Sportsfield and associated landscaping: The installation of a new sportsfield and associated landscaping above the basement structure to return the sportsfield and greenspace over the carpark.

Timing and impact

Subject to approvals, construction is expected to commence during July 2025 and will take approximately 11 months to complete.

The School is committed to minimising the impact on the local community and will collaborate closely with the contractor throughout the project.

Elliston Place

The School recently took the opportunity to purchase at auction an adjoining house in Elliston Place. Our masterplan does not include an expansion of our campus footprint. The purchase represents a strategic investment by the School Board, with the intention to lease the property under a residential tenancy. Any change to this current plan will need the approval of the relevant regulatory authority.
