Inaugural Learning Leader awards presented

It was with great pleasure that I was able to present our very first Learning Leader awards today! This award commends a student who demonstrates a tenacious attitude in their learning. As the Academic Head, I do not simply consider the numerical results or grades that a student receives. I am just as interested in a student’s tenacity and the positive attitude that they demonstrate when approaching their learning.

This week, I am proud to announce the recipients of the award.

In our Junior School, Cullen Hamlin received the award for “working creatively and with independence to develop an outstanding presentation on his History topic: How the way we listen to music has changed”. Cullen modelled tenacious learning by researching his topic widely and applying himself to refining an excellent slideshow presentation.

In our Secondary School, Ella Luxton received the award for “working collaboratively to construct a detailed Lego model of Pompeii, using original plans and sources”. Ella modelled tenacious learning by leading her peers and displaying initiative when adopting a creative mode to demonstrate her knowledge.

Further detail regarding the introduction of this award can be found here.
