Shire Christian School’s new learning framework, Learning for Life, was launched last night at the annual Junior School Parent Engagement Evening.
Learning for Life seeks to provide a whole school approach to learning which upholds and directs the teaching and learning practices of the school. By developing a whole school framework, the whole school community will have a shared language and understanding about what is valued at Shire Christian, how the school seeks to teach and how students are prepared to engage with and participate in their own learning journeys.
“I am really looking forward to seeing the impact that Learning for Life has on our students,” Academic Head Mrs Natalie Bluhdorn said.
“I'm looking forward to seeing our students grow in their self-awareness as learners, in their abilities, in their approach, and their stance to what it means to be a good learner.”
The new framework was developed over 18 months with input from a range of stakeholders including executive, middle leaders, teachers and students.
Parents in the Secondary School will have the opportunity to hear more about Learning for Life from the Principal and the Academic Head at the Secondary Parent Engagement Evening on Wednesday.
