Success at Junior State Swimming Carnival

On the 24th of February, a team of 27 students headed off to Prairiewood Leisure Centre to compete in the Primary Zone Swimming Carnival. The students competed against 10 other schools to be a part of the South Met team who were sent to the State Swimming Carnival.

We had a tremendously successful day that saw all 4 relay teams go through to the State Carnival, as well as 10 other students making it to the next level for a variety of individual races.

A big congratulations to Jacob Fox, James Seidel and Jade Seidel who were all age champions on the day!

Our State team competed on Monday the 9th of March, with Miss Ohlmus making her debut as a timekeeper at the Blacktown Aquatic Centre. What an amazing job they did! There were many excited racers and exciting races on the day, including the performances of our fabulous relay teams.

Congratulations to Jacob Fox, who came 3rd in the 50m freestyle race. This qualifies Jacob to compete at the Combined Independent Schools (CIS) level as part of the CSSA team. What an amazing achievement!

Thanks to the many parents who have been amazing assistants at each of the 3 swimming carnivals we have had in the past 6 weeks. Your contributions to these events are greatly appreciated, from the driving of competitors, to the handing out of swim caps, to the enthusiastic cheering!
