Welcome back for 2023 to all our existing families, and a warm welcome to those joining our school for the first time this year.
We have some great educators joining our team this year from a variety of school backgrounds, and they will be introduced to you through our upcoming newsletters this term. In the midst of a widely publicised teacher shortage, we are very thankful to have all of our teaching positions staffed for the beginning of the year.
I would like to invite you to “Brunch in the Breezeway” on Monday Day 1 of school. Join us from 8:15am at the front of the school for brunch and barista coffee. It is a great way to connect and meet new families. Paul Carter, our Deputy, will communicate with you next week to highlight other key events at the school in Term 1.
Our staff returned on Monday and are spending this week involved in a variety of preparation and professional development opportunities.
Each morning started with singing and a devotion, and it was a great reminder of the privilege and blessing it is to be involved in the education and nurture of young people, grounded in God’s word and the good news of Jesus.
We began this week as a staff engaging with our new mission statement, which is:
To educate students for a life of learning, service, and purpose, to the Glory of God.
Ephesians 2 tells us “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” It remains our fundamental desire that our students learn in the context of a Biblical worldview, know their purpose in the context of God’s great story of redemption, and live a life of service to others as an outworking of their passion for Christ.
I look forward to seeing you all again in person as the opportunity presents this year.
Kind regards,
Mr David Stonestreet
Principal
