Reflecting on Reformation Day

Mr Brett Hartley

Many days of the year have been flagged to recognise a group of people or draw attention to a particular goal. Some of these days would be widely respected such as a day to remember victims of the Holocaust. However, International Jazz Day might create excitement in those who have a passion for the saxophone but be of little interest to others.

Perseverance

Rev Bruce Christian

I don’t know about you, but I find myself feeling depressed because of our current circumstances, realising that even if we can manage to one day eliminate the coronavirus altogether, we are still in a very dark tunnel with no ‘light’ appearing at the end, and even from the most optimistic perspective we face a very long and arduous road to recovery.

For Prayer and Praise

Let the message about the Messiah dwell richly among you, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, and singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:16-17

• Pray that we would all let the good news of Jesus dwell richly amongst us and affect the way we speak, think and act.

• Pray for teachers as they seek to live a godly example to their students while teaching them about the world that God has made and the way it works.

• Continue to pray for the Year 12 students who still have HSC exams. Also pray for those students who have now finished their exams, that they will use their free time wisely and enjoy some time of relaxation.

• Pray for families who are experiencing suffering or experiencing difficulties.
