Four new architecturally designed music studios have been completed at Shire Christian School, providing students with acoustically treated spaces for music tuition, ensemble rehearsal and recording.
Head of Music David Humphreys said he was excited that after years of planning the new studios were ready for students to embrace.
“Our instrument tuition program has been bursting at the seams. I’m confident these spaces will not only solve the logistical challenges that we faced, but more importantly will serve as inspiring places for students to develop their gifts,” he said.
“They are not normal rooms, but are acoustically treated rooms, specifically designed for studio use and fit out with recording technology.”
Gold Coast modular pod manufacturer, ModnPods, was commissioned to create the new music spaces which are manufactured using 90% Australian premium materials, with 70% of them fully recyclable. The studios are made with non-toxic materials, are VOC paint and coating free, and use allergy-friendly flooring.
“At ModnPods, we know how important a fresh, calm teaching and learning environment is, that’s why each pod oozes innovation with air and sound quality of the highest caliber.
“Each ModnPod is fitted out with premium, sustainable acoustic panels crafted from natural materials, wood and cement.
“All Pods are also equipped with a Stiebel Eltron HRV System to ensure fresh, healthy air circulates throughout the space via controlled ventilation.”
The music tuition program will recommence on Monday 21 February. More information about the program, including an online enrolment form, can be found here.
