Shire Christian School alumni speak at Careers Breakfasts

Q. What do you get if you combine Nursing, Construction, traineeships and Allied Health with bacon and eggs?

A. National Careers Week at Shire Christian School, that’s what!

And what a busy week it was! Our Careers Breakfast and Interviews ran before school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with over 70 hungry students from Years 9 to 12 attending. A huge thank you to the 12 ex-students who came and shared their experiences - and their time - so generously.

Later in the week Year 11 students attended a Nursing Information morning at University of Wollongong (UOW) Loftus Campus.  It was a valuable opportunity to hear about the many different specialities nursing has to offer, to take part in hands-on activities in the labs and to discover the numerous pathways into Nursing, from AIN (Assistant in Nursing) to Enrolled or Registered Nursing. This event was organised by the Sutherland Shire Career Advisors Association, in cooperation with UOW and TAFE NSW.
