The hard-earned results of our 65 HSC students recognised: 35 Band 6 results achieved across diverse range of subjects

Today we celebrate the amazing group of students that are the Graduating Class of 2025 at Shire Christian School. Their determination and perseverance has enabled them to demonstrate a commitment to learning for life, and achieve a range of outstanding results in the HSC. Many of these students have been at our school since Kindergarten. We know that they leave us equipped for whatever it is that they choose to pursue and they will always be welcome back at our school in the future.

As a group, the 65 students of the Class of 2025 achieved 35 Band 6 results or equivalent. These results were achieved across a diverse range of subjects, with Drama achieving five Band 6 results. Biology, English Extension 1, Food Technology, Mathematics Standard 2 and Music 1 all received three Band 6 results. Six subjects achieved a result of more than 5% above the state average; Ancient History, Biology, English Studies, Food Technology, Industrial Technology and Music 1.

We would like to highlight the outstanding achievement of Chelsea Lucas in scoring a 97.65 ATAR and being placed on the NESA All Rounder list for achieving a Band 6 or equivalent in all of her subjects, including one additional unit of study. This is a fitting achievement for a dedicated student like Chelsea. There were several students who also achieved multiple Merit results in their studies; Anneke Chappelow (2), Elliana Clarke (4), Annalisa Hunter (3), Zara Kotobalavu (4), Ezekiel Sciacca (2) and Justin Verus (2). Congratulations to these high achieving students.

A large number of nominations for NESA showcases were achieved, demonstrating the level of excellence and commitment that our students apply to their Major Projects.

Congratulations to the following students for their nominations:

  • Annalisa Hunter (Music - Composition)

  • Anneke Chappelow (Drama - Group, Music - Performance)

  • Bridie Barrie (Dance)

  • Elizabeth Wilson (Drama - Individual, Dance 2024)

  • Elliana Clarke (Visual Arts) *Selected for Exhibition*

  • Ezekiel Sciacca (Drama - Individual)

  • Jordon Taplin (Drama - Group)

  • Justin Verus (Industrial Technology Multimedia)

  • Lucas Wadds (Drama - Individual, Drama - Group)

  • Melissa Agostini (Drama - Individual, Drama - Group)

  • William Hingston (Drama - Group, Industrial Technology Multimedia)

For many students, the HSC is just one small moment in time. Just like many cohorts of students before them, we know that the students will move on to many varied pursuits. HSC results can open and close doors, but we know that they are never permanently shut. We encourage any student who needs support at this time to reach out to their Pastoral Care teacher or our Head of Secondary School.

Congratulations to all our graduating Class of 2025 students. We know God has great plans for your life and we look forward to celebrating more successes with you in the future.
